Student Voices: Turning Climate Anxiety into Climate Action

Emily worked with the BIPOC Montgomery County Green New Deal internship program to advocate for electric school buses and decarbonization more broadly. With pushes from students like Emily, Montgomery County has pledged to purchase over 300 electric school buses and has rolled out about 60 buses. She also recently spoke at the Electric School Bus Initiative’s Roadmap to 100 Summit.
Emily is a student at Montgomery Blair High School in the Science, Math, and Computer Science Magnet program, class of 2026.
