The Alliance for Electric School Buses has created Driving Change: A State Playbook for Equitable Electric School Bus Policy in collaboration with WRI's Electric School Bus Initiative. This comprehensive guide offers recommendations, best practices and real-world examples for state lawmakers, regulators, agencies, utilities and advocates working to equitably electrify their state’s school bus fleet.

Driving Change: A State Playbook for Equitable Electric School Bus Policy presents a range of approaches and resources, recognizing the vital role state policymakers play and the need for a coordinated effort both within states and with federal and local decision makers to ensure an effective transition to clean electric school buses. The recommendations detailed in the playbook prioritize communities historically marginalized and most harmed by transportation pollution, such as Black, Indigenous, Latino and Asian communities and communities of color, as well as those with fewer resources, such as low-income and rural communities.
